Your whole brand. One weekend.
You're good. Your customers just don't know it yet. The Weekender is how you make them know: fifteen focused hours, Friday night to Sunday afternoon, and you come out the other side knowing who you're for, what you stand for and what to say on Monday.
Who it's for
Founders with a good product whose customers don't know it yet. Services, shelves or online. UK, US or here. Fifteen focused hours, across one weekend or three. A laptop, something good to drink.
All sales are final. It's a download, and it's yours in thirty seconds. Not sure? The Boring Test is free.
Lovely is the problem.
Meet Tash. She runs a small swimwear label. Good fabric, good fit, a nice logo. Sales are fine. Fine was the problem. Here is her Saturday morning, before and after.
Premium sustainable swimwear for women who love the ocean.
Built for the dawn swim. Guaranteed for a year of them.
Nothing new was invented. It was all there. The weekend just made her say it. Tash is made up. Her problem isn't.
Friday night to Sunday afternoon. Three hours a section.
What you leave with
- Your people. A clear picture of your customer, what matters to them and what makes them choose.
- Your point of view. What you love, what you won't stand for and why your brand deserves a place.
- Your look and voice. A visual direction, a way of speaking and simple rules to keep it recognisably you.
- Your words. Your story, your one-breath pitch and a tagline that says something.
- Your next moves. Where to show up, how to start conversations and a practical plan for the next thirty days.
- A Wild Insight from Elaine in every section: the thinking behind the exercises, from 25 years in the job.
Do it in one weekend or spread it over three. Work the sections in order. They build on each other.
An AI companion that won't call it lovely.
Set it up once, in ten minutes, in ChatGPT or Claude. Give it your rough notes or a voice-note ramble and it sorts them. Then it marks your work Boring, Getting there or Brilliant, quotes your own words back to you and rewrites your weakest line using only your facts. Ruthless with the work, kind to you.
Tash pasted in her first draft
"Deep End makes premium, sustainable swimwear for women who love the ocean. We believe in quality you can trust. We test every style in the ocean for three months before launch."
The verdict: Boring. Two of the three brands in your three tabs could put most of this on their homepage tomorrow.
What's working: "We test every style in the ocean for three months." That's real, it's specific, and nobody else is saying it. It's also buried in your last sentence.
What's boring: "Quality you can trust" passes the swap test for every swimwear brand alive. It's wallpaper. "Women who love the ocean": so does everyone on holiday. Your F notes say your customer swims at dawn, all year. That's far more interesting.
Make it brilliant: "Built for the dawn swim. Every style spends three months in the ocean before you ever see it."
Your next move: ask three customers what made them trust the suit would last. If it's the testing, lead with it everywhere.
It's an AI working from our method. It isn't Elaine, and it doesn't make the decisions. You do.
"When I didn't know who I was for, I didn't connect with anybody."
I started The Wild Ones pregnant, freshly made redundant and, if I'm honest, running on fear. I'd always wanted my own agency. I had the experience and I loved solving problems for clients. What I didn't have was a clear answer to who I was for, or how I wanted to help them.
It took me three years to answer the questions in this guide. Now it fits in a sentence. I help brands with a great product that their customers don't know about yet. We find those customers, and we build the brand while we get the sales.
I've spent years managing budgets in the millions. I'm not sure I ever helped anyone the way I help smaller brands now, with a fraction of the money. The difference is consistency. Same message, same voice, again and again, while never standing still.
Now I know who I'm for, and who I'm not for. That's why the right people find me.
